Ocean Universal in Westcourt, Cairns has a big spearfishing inventory. That's no accident — the shop was originally Spearfishing Superstore, and that side of things hasn't gone anywhere.
They've got rail spearguns, spearfishing wetsuits, long-blade fins, low-volume masks, weight belts, floats, dive knives, and spearfishing accessories. Gear is chosen for tropical conditions — not imported cold-water gear that doesn't suit FNQ.
The name changed to Ocean Universal because the shop had already started stocking scuba and freediving equipment over the years. But spearfishing gear hasn't been reduced. Spearfishing is still a core part they do.
